You Want a Shorter, Easygoing Trip

One of my favorite things about Disneyland is that you do not need a full week to do it all.

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure sit right across from each other. Because the layout is so compact, you can comfortably see both parks in two or three days. It is the ultimate choice if you are looking for a long weekend getaway or a quick dose of magic without using up a whole week of vacation time.

You Are Traveling During the Summer

If summer is the only time your family can travel, California weather is a massive perk.

Florida summers are famous for heavy humidity and afternoon storms, which can wear you out quickly. Southern California summers tend to bring warm sunshine, lower humidity, and comfortably cool evenings. If your dream summer getaway includes sunny park days and cool breezy nights, Disneyland is a wonderful option.

You Love the Idea of Walking Everywhere

This is a feature you might not think about until you arrive, but it makes a huge difference in how your days feel.

Disneyland is unbelievably walkable. The two park entrances face each other across a small plaza, Downtown Disney is right next door, and many nearby hotels are just a short walk away. You get to skip the shuttle buses, monorails, and parking trams, stepping right out of your hotel and straight into the parks.

You Appreciate Classic Disney History

There is a special kind of charm at Disneyland that you cannot find anywhere else.

This is the park where it all started. Disneyland was Walt Disney’s original passion project, and you can feel his personal footprint and history everywhere you look. It is smaller and more intimate than Disney World, giving it a cozy, nostalgic magic that is hard to describe until you experience it yourself.

You Are Obsessed with Halloween OR You Love The Nightmare Before Christmas

If fall is your favorite season, Disneyland goes all out in the best way possible.

During September and October, the entire resort turns into a festive, spooky wonderland. The Haunted Mansion gets a complete Nightmare Before Christmas makeover, California Adventure hosts the popular Oogie Boogie Bash, and the seasonal snacks are top tier. It is easily one of the funnest times of year to visit!

Your Kids Love Cars, Superheroes, and Star Wars

Disney World has amazing themed lands, but Disneyland has a few exclusive fan favorites that kids fall in love with instantly:

• Cars Land: Stepping into Radiator Springs feels like walking right into the movie.

• Avengers Campus: Kids can sling webs with Spider-Man and bump into Marvel heroes throughout the day.

• Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Fly the Millennium Falcon and immerse yourself in a galaxy far, far away.
