As travelers’ arrival times will vary, we have not included any sightseeing today. Spend the day as you wish, exploring the town independently. This evening, get to know your fellow travelers during a welcome dinner where regional foods and Italian wines kick off your adventure.

Choose to relax in Montecatini, spending the afternoon at leisure -OR- set off for Borgo a Mozzano, where you will see its unique Devil’s Bridge and the nearby remains of the Gothic Line – the Germans’ last defense during WWII. Visit the Museum of Liberation and see authentic fortifications and bunkers.

Explore this enchanting medieval town, from its famous 14 towers to its magnificent vistas overlooking vineyards. Enjoy free time and perhaps indulge in some gelato, before returning to Montecatini in the late afternoon. This evening, join your travel companions for a farewell dinner.

3-Night Rome Pre-Tour Extension: Sep 27 -30

The pre-tour Rome extension begins with a September 27 arrival, giving guests time to settle in and explore the city at their leisure before beginning guided activities. On September 28, travelers enjoy a guided visit to the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica, followed by free time to explore highlights like the Borghese Gardens or Monti district. September 29 features a walking tour of Rome’s landmarks, including the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona, with the afternoon open for museums, the Imperial Forum, or an optional evening food tour in Trastevere. On September 30, the group departs Rome for Montecatini Terme to begin the main Tuscany itinerary.

2-Night Famous Food & Ferrari: Emilia Region Post-Tour Extension: October 8-10
After concluding their Tuscany tour, guests can travel through the scenic Apennine Mountains into Emilia, Italy’s “Food Valley,” renowned for delicacies like Parma ham, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and balsamic vinegar, as well as its legendary motor brands. They pause in Modena to explore the Ferrari Museum before continuing to Reggio Emilia for a two-night stay. The next day includes visits to a traditional Parmigiano-Reggiano dairy and an agriturismo producing balsamic vinegar, complete with tastings and a light lunch, followed by leisure time in Reggio Emilia. The journey ends with a transfer to Bologna Airport for departure.
